Innovative

As a “fast-growth” district, EMS sets the pace for education innovation in North Texas.

  • The Hollenstein Career and Technology Center (HCTC) connects students to their long-term vision of what they want to do and equips them with the skills and experienced teachers to do it in a state-of-the-art facility.
  • The HCTC hosts 10 academies that incorporate rigorous academic study with an emphasis on career preparation through applied learning. These academies include health science technology, legal and protective services, media tech, culinary arts, advanced manufacturing automotive and construction tech, IT, science tech engineering and mathematics.
  • We are proud to have partnered with TCU to help pioneer the Liink Program in the United States where changes to the school day allow educators to develop the whole child through increased recess and character development.
  • EMS launched the World Languages Academy for parents and their children to have the opportunity to learn a language together. Debuted in 2017 with 54 students, the program offers language enrichment courses for students grades 2-12 and their families in Spanish and American Sign Language.
  • EMS was designated a District of Innovation which allows access to many of the same options that are currently available to charter schools.
  • Earlier sports skills training are available beginning in 6th grade.
  • The AVID college support system equips middle school students who will be first generation college graduates.
  • Our high schools offers Entrepreneurship courses where students create their own company in partnership with Jr. Achievement.

Elementary Program

EMS is home to 15 elementary schools serving students in grades K-5. These elementaries are home to the EMS pre-kindergarten program for qualifying four-year- olds. STEM, music, art and physical education are provided for all students. Gifted and Talented programs are offered for qualified students.

Intermediate Program

EMS is home to five middle schools serving students in grades 6-8 with a sixth, Marine Creek Middle School, scheduled to open in the Fall of 2019. Gifted and talented, Pre-AP and STEM courses are available to intermediate students. Athletic and fine arts include: football, volleyball, cross country, cheerleading, basketball, gymnastics, tennis, track and field and soccer, band, choir, theater, and visual arts.

EMS is home to three high schools serving students in grades 9-12 with a fourth projected to open in 2024, and an accelerated high school. Our students enjoy numerous award- winning UIL academic, fine arts, and athletic programs, 28 AP courses and STEM courses.
